Description: Not just great but Exceptional. Exceptional leaders have a clear focus, set a positive personal example, instill optimism and self-confidence in others, while also still staying grounded. They take big risks, and never give up. This competency-based leadership program for those individuals with at least five years of experience in a leadership position, can benefit from exploring a broad range of important leadership skills that their readiness for future advancement. Senior leaders in all mission-critical occupations will benefit from this review of important strategic skills and gain insights into areas in need of further development. This fast-paced course delves into the elements of Leading Change through Strategic Thinking, Resilience, Vision, and Creativity & Innovation, and focuses on Leading People and Building Coalitions through Team Building, Political Savvy, Influencing/Negotiating, Partnering, and Oral Communication. In addition, this course features opportunities to hone Oral Communication skills by focusing on Delivering Effective Presentations. This course features networking and experiential learning opportunities, as well as a team project. Facilitation Methods
This course will make use of a variety of facilitation techniques to foster active learning and ensure high levels of class participation. Case studies, readings, team projects, opportunity to take various assessments, and coaching/feedback will all be utilized to contribute to a rich learning experience.
