The Big Picture Leader

Executive Leader Program (Leading Strategy)

Description:

Big picture leaders see possibilities and envision successful outcomes. When leaders think this way, it allows them to act proactively rather than reactively and creates emotional resilience. Cultivating big picture thinking can help leaders handle situations with grace and help turn challenges into opportunities.

This competency-based leadership program is designed to prepare senior leaders in all mission-critical occupations for potential positions in the Senior Executive Service (SES). Curriculum content areas all relate to leader strategy, which is an essential aspect of the ECQ qualification of leading change.

This course focuses on all six core competencies associated with Leading Change: Creativity & Innovation, External Awareness, Flexibility, Resilience, Strategic Thinking, and Vision. This course also covers Problem Solving & Critical Thinking, Cultivating a Growth Mindset, and Organizational Systems Thinking.

Participants will have the opportunity to practice Influencing and Negotiating as part of a module on Leadership Persuasion. Finally, participants will take two questionnaires: one on Authentic Leadership and another that measures their leadership efficiency.

This course features networking and experiential learning opportunities, as well as a team project.
